The Safety-First Inspection
In the Irving, Texas shop, one of our technicians, Nando, was servicing a vehicle for a large university hospital provider for a simple A/C issue. While the primary repair was quick—a corroded vacuum line—Nando approaches every service with a “safety first” mindset.
“It’s not an upsell, it’s a safety thing… I want [the vehicle] to drive and perform as it was designed to and as safely as possible,” Nando explains.
This philosophy is why all Model 1 service centers perform a complimentary, thorough inspection. What Nando found left him surprised that the vehicle was even operational. The problems were critical and dangerous: control arm bushings were completely shot, brakes were low, and vital fluids were depleted. These were serious safety concerns that the customer was not aware of.
Our Service Writer communicated these findings quickly and thoroughly, giving the customer the information they needed to understand and authorize the crucial safety repairs. This level of comprehensive care, consistent quality, and transparent communication built such confidence that the client, who previously used other providers, now sends their entire fleet directly to Model 1.
Mobile Service: Preventing Downtime in Real-Time
Our Model 1 Mobile Service amplifies our commitment to keeping fleets moving. In Colorado, our Mobile Tech, Josue, was performing routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) for a large airport parking and shuttle operator.
During the PM, Josue not only completed the scheduled service but also noticed and fixed a malfunctioning shuttle door in just 15 minutes. By resolving the issue on the spot, he saved the customer a tow, a trip to the shop, and days of vehicle downtime.
Furthermore, his detailed inspection found the vehicle’s oil was dangerously overdue for a change and identified eight wear items that were about to fail. By alerting the customer, Model 1 provided the critical foresight needed to schedule proactive maintenance, ensuring the fleet remains on the road, where it belongs.
