3 Reasons Buses Should be Your Primary Mode of Transportation

If you aren’t already taking advantage of the bus transportation in your city, it is high time you got on board with the rest of us. In recent years, more and more cities have been adding bus routes to their roads, and those cities with long-standing systems have been working hard to improve upon them.

You see, public transportation is truly the way of the future. With more people being brought into the world every minute, we need to find ways to mobilize everyone—both physically and ecologically—and public transportation is the first step in that direction.

Here are three simple reasons you should be using the city bus:

#1: Save Money

Owning a car is not cheap. Not only do you have to shell out money for monthly payments on the loan, you also have to buy insurance and gas and keep up with maintenance. Additionally, many apartment complexes require renters to pay for a parking spot.

So what do you do if you don’t own a car? Well, many people take taxis or use Uber instead. However, bus transportation is a fraction of the cost to either of those options, and provides a nearly identical service.

#2: Keep it Green

Gas-powered vehicles are some of the worst offenders when it comes to air pollution. Additionally, they use up valuable, non-renewable resources that should be used as sparingly as possible.

Buses do not solve these problems entirely. However, because they carry a great number of passengers, they do help to reduce the emitted pollution per person, as well as the amount of gasoline used by each individual. Therefore, they most certainly are a step toward a greener planet for everyone.

#3: Reduce Traffic and Stress

Let’s face it, there are just too many people on the road. By hopping on a bus, you have the opportunity to leave the driving-and the stress that comes with it-to the driver. Because of this, you are free to read a book, listen to music. Think about how productive you can be during your commute!

Additionally, when you choose to ride the bus, you reduce the amount of traffic on the roads. If a large number of people were to make the same decision, traffic could be reduced significantly and traffic jams would be a thing of the past.
